Acquisition of JIS Product Certification by our Indonesian Subsidiary

In October 2018, PT. JATIM TAMAN STEEL MFG.(“JATIM”) (Sidoarjo, Indonesia), our Indonesian local subsidiary, acquired JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) Product Certification.

The JIS certification number aquired this time is the first JIS Product Certification acquired in Southeast Asia. This certification supports that JATIM established the quality control systems equivalent to those of MITSUBISHI STEEL MURORAN INC. (“MSR”). Also, we can see raised expectations to this certification in coverage of the Indonesian local media on this topic.

In the future, we will try to meet the growing needs for localizing procurement of our products in ASEAN region and compelling needs in Japan. Moreover, acquiring JIS certification allows us to supply JATIM products to Japan. Deviding the range of manufacturing steel sizes between JATIM and MSR, our manufacturing base of special steel, we will be able to improve the productivity of MSR and achieve competitive advantage compared to other companies from the aspect of cost.
