MSM Spring India Pvt. Ltd. ("MSM-SI"), a local subsidiary of MITSUBISHISTEEL MFG. CO., LTD. ("MSM"), held an opening ceremony on August 3rd at local time, at its plant in Chennai area.MSM-SI is a joint venture company, founded by MSM and Stumpp Schuele & Somappa Springs Pvt. Ltd., the Indian major spring manufacturer, to manufacture and distribute recoil springs used for construction machines in India that is expected to grow. As manufacturing location for recoil springs for construction machinery, this new production base in India is the third one for MSM, following the plant in Japan and China.

Going forward, utilizing Japanese-developed high-end quality, experience and expertise in Japan and China, and the power of corporate brand, MSM will respond to the needs for local procurement from construction machinery manufacturer and build strong business relationship with its joint venture partner. With such efforts, MSM hopes to contribute to the development of Indian economy. MSM will continue its effort to achieve further growth, through promoting local procurement by making the best use of the advantage as an integrated materials/product manufacturer, with a consideration of expanding sales channels to domestic railway vehicle manufacturers and exporting to European market in future.
